Jimmy's Cambridge

Jimmy's opened its doors in 1995 and became Cambridge's first all-year-round night shelter providing help to people experiencing homelessness in the city.  They operate a 24/7 service including extensive facilities for daytime support.  As well as providing emergency accommodation, Jimmy's also runs several shared houses and currently twenty-two modular homes across the city.

OpenArch is delighted to support one of these modular homes to help an individual, with a history of homelessness, restart their lives.  The modular homes have been installed on land owned by Cambridge City Council in the north of the city.  Jimmy’s manage and provide support to the new residents and work with the council and other local organisations to continue to provide support to people who need it most.

Barry Griffiths, Community Engagement Officer at Jimmy’s commented "Jimmy's Cambridge is proud to be partnering with OpenArch. Through their generous support, OpenArch currently help fund our modular homes service, providing semi-independent living for residents of Jimmy's Cambridge. We are also pleased to announce that we are looking at further joint projects between Jimmy's and OpenArch staff to work with our residents to support them further.”

Michael Horan, Managing Director of OpenArch, commented “We are delighted to support Jimmy’s in this way. They are a very well-respected charity that provide invaluable support to some of those in our community who need it most. We are committed to an ongoing relationship and to help in whatever way we can”
