OpenArch is recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance department.
We are looking for a problem-solver, with excellent technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and effective communication. Our portfolio of properties covers Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas. The role includes managing our in-house team; including field staff and office-based coordinators. Carrying out project work to upkeep and refresh our properties, overseeing weekly tasks such as fire alarm checks. Budget planning for reactive, planned, and preventative work. Making sure the department runs efficiently and smoothly, maximising productivity.
This is a pivotal role within the business and an opportunity for the right candidate to lead and implement change. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude who has a broad set of skills, and who finds it easy to manage their own workload and prioritise regular tasks alongside urgent issues. Good communication and the ability to use technology to manage various tasks are essential, along with being a team player working with colleagues to deliver an excellent experience for our tenants.

The successful candidate will care about the bigger picture and be passionate about the delivery of services.
Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role is essential, along with a good understanding and respect for Health, Safety, and Compliance. Property/lettings experience is preferred. The successful candidate will ideally hold relevant qualifications befitting the level of the role. They will also be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Key responsibilities:
- To proactively manage the Maintenance Department and all staff within it.
- To report to the Executive Director, and the board, on the performance of the Maintenance Department.
- To continually review processes and procedures to look for improvement and efficiencies, and drive change.
- Manage the health and safety of the Maintenance Department, ensuring compliance with all company Health and Safety policies and all legal requirements.
- To ensure the department maintains a professional and customer-orientated relationship with staff, our client, tenants, and members of the public.
- To be responsible for department budgeting, allocating resources effectively, and optimising maintenance costs.
- To be a supportive and proactive member of the Management Group.
- To be a supportive member of the company Health and Safety Group; ensuring the safety of maintenance staff, properties, and the general public.
