Blyth is a bustling port town with a rich history which reaped the rewards of the rise of coal mining, ship building and modern fishing industries. Attractions include a large leisure centre and pool, the Phoenix Theatre and South Beach, a beautiful stretch of sand which is home to 20 brightly coloured beach huts. The town also has it's own lighhouse which stands to the rear of Bath Terrace and nearby is Plessey Woods Country Park, which boasts open meadows and pleasant river and woodland walks.
